Event Details: Carolina Bauernhaus brings you the first of many Murder Mystery parties coming to our Haus in 2021! Featuring the mysteries of Bunny's Bamboozles, we'll be hosting twenty players for an evening of Western Saloon shenanigans. Ticket price includes all you need ~ drinks, dinner, and death ~ for a memorable night out. Your $50 ticket covers two beers, pub fare, and your character script.

Plot: In the town of Deseret, any day could be your last. Townsfolk live in fear of outlaws and Native American warriors hiding along the trails that lead to the town. Between them and the nightly gunfights between drunk and angry saloon patrons, as well as the recent typhoid fever breakouts, folks just don’t know what to expect, or how death will come for them. Drowning in a horse trough, however, is not something anyone expects.

On the night of March 24, 1870, Ruth Ann, a member of the nearby Church of Saints, is discovered drowned in one of the horse troughs outside of the Palisade, the town’s bordello. Tensions are high the next day, when Prophet Briggs, leader of the Church of Saints and its town, Zion, enters Deseret. He and a few of his men have come to claim the body of Ruth Ann and demand justice for her death.

Groups:

  • The Regulars:The Devil’s Cut saloon is Deseret’s watering hole, and favorite gathering spot of most of the town’s men--second only perhaps to Madam Silks’ Palisade bordello. Operated and owned by Bauernaby Slaughterman, the men enjoy drinks while playing a game of poker before drunkenly wandering to the Palisade on most nights.
  • The Soiled Doves: The Palisade, Deseret’s bordello, is located beside Bauernaby Slaughterman’s saloon, the Devil’s Cut. Run by Madam Silks, the Palisade is a favorite haunt for the men of Deseret, as well as those passing through. It does, however, have enemies from the neighboring town of Zion, a settlement started by members of the Church of Saints.
  • The Cattle Hands: Clementine Burgess, aka the Cattle Queen, has just one more stop before reaching the town of Zion, where she plans to sell some of her cattle to the congregation of the Church of Saints. Zion is a bit of an oddity out in Utah, especially since only members of the congregation are allowed to live there, and outsiders are only allowed to enter per invitation from Prophet Briggs, Zion’s leader.
  • The Rowdy Wranglers: Betsy Belle, and her outlaw gang are "just passing through town" and decide to spend the night at the Devil’s Cut Saloon when they run into none other than the Cattle Queen and her hands. Will they lay low while the Marshal's in town, or will the Cattle Queen's haul be too much temptation for them?
  • Zion's Angels: When Prophet Briggs led the loyal followers of the Church of Saints to the territory of Utah twenty years ago, he never imagined a town as immoral and irreligious as Deseret would spring up near his beloved Zion. However, with his capable leadership, Zion has prospered and flourished. Now that one of his flock has been obviously been murdered, he wants to know who in Deseret is responsible.
